    can copd affect your hearing

    i have copd over ther last 2weeks my hearing has droped of to about 20% could copd be a cause of this?

    I've noticed when working with the elderly , that a lot of them who had smoked heavily ---also were hard of hearing. COPD is amost always caused by smoking or being exposed to a smoky room everyday. COPD is a nicer name for an old term called empysema

    Usually as you age your hearing is less. I don't think it's due to  Copd, but you can check it out with the doctor. You might have been listening to rock and heavy metal music when you were younger. Anything loud will affect your hearing as you age.

    as i am 55 yes i did listen to load music but as the lack of hearing has got bad over a 2 week period
