Place cabbage in a greased 2 qt. casserole, set aside. In a saucepan heat oil over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper.cook until bubbly. Gradually stir in milk, stir until thickened. Fold in cheese.. Pour over cabbage. Combine bread crumbs and butter, sprinkle on top. Bake, uncovered at 350 F. 20-30 minutes or until bubbly. Serve immediately. Yields 4-6 servings....

Hi jhharlan Can you sub corn starch for the flour? Our daughter is gluten sensitive am gonna try to make it for dinner. surprise the wife.

I don't know, I've never used corn starch much but, if you have practiced with it, go for it....
1 Tbls of cornstarch is equal to 2 Tbls of flour My friend who is gluten sensitive uses rice flour
Sounds yummy! I like purple cabbage would that work or should I stick with green cabbage??

Here's a super dressing for salad: Mix some virgin olive oil (The expensive kind), add Balsamic vinegar and then some Dijon mustard. Just make it to the consistency of salad dressing. This isn't for cabbage necessarily. Just file it under "G" for Green or "S" for Salad or "D" for dressing.
