    Enough.

I had a limit and I spent to the limit and not a penny more

I just read your comment to my answer and tend to agree. There are just some people I feel drawn to, and you are one of them. I enjoy our friendship here! :D

    thanks Bob/BKB xxx

Me personally, just presents for myself. About $400.00. Checked my checking account balance, thought I was the victim of identity theft again, no such luck, the wife went nuts once more.

I spent considerably less on MYself than you, but more than I did on everybody else, except my youngest son (the one who I talk to who is not in jail). I'm kind of ashamed that I use the season to buy silly stuff for myself (except the slippers....I needed the slippers.....haven't WORN them yet, but I really needed them).

I get a pair of slippers every Christmas from my daughter-in-law. Have to tell her one day that I wear a size 12. There always a bit small, but they do stretch in time.

    Why?

The care and time I took in selecting gifts was far more valuable than the gifts themselves.  It gave me great delight to purchase, and then to watch the reaction, of my brother-in-law when he received from me:  2 movie tickets and five "$1 each" boxes of candies like Sugar Babies, Hot Tamales, Milk Duds, etc. to enjoy at the show.  Total cost  <$25.  He loved it.

Bob I do belive we are soul mates I too take time in picking a present! I would rather give a present than receive one! and I bet you are the same! oxoxox

I spent about what I had in mind...The few presents went over very well so it was money well spent......

I'm now Bankrupt my wife as seen to it

    CHAIN

    YEAH TYPICAL,
BLAME YOUR WIFE FOR YOUR MISHAPS..

Perhaps I did allow my Bankrupt state out of love and respect for her wishes

As much as I planned to spend. Did not go over my budget.

We limited our gift giving for adults to $10 and gave to the needy and poor this year, and had a real nice Christmas.

It must be a nice addition to your family to have the close friend as part of the extended family. Happy 2012 to you, too, rainy49
