Why do people say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and unhappy when there is no connection between wealth and happiness?

Money does not always guarantee happiness but it does allow you to be miserable in comfort.

Lack of money does not always guarantee happiness but it allows you to have an excuse for not being happy.

To answer your question, why do people say anything of this type.

i think theirs spiritual wealth, which is priceless..

I am with PEOPLELOVER on this one I think what he is saying is correct!

I would be happier if I had a truck load of money.

I met a rich man that was lonely and extremely unhappy but he trusted no one. He felt that everyone was after his money. He sadly was addicted to sleeping pills and alcahol because it was easier to numb that feeling.

Bull  give me a million bucks and I'll be happier than a Mo Fo

because when you have everything you are still not happy and when you are poor you have a little bit and your still happy

    That's a load of bull.

Money doesn't buy happiness, this is true.  I wish I had more money but I don't feel sad because I don't.
