 These points are important if you want to meet and become friends with a man.

Avoid pubs and clubs, men who you meet there are generaly out for a one night stand.

Join local social groups for your age group, this can include local church if you are so inclined.

Place ad in paper or on line BUT vet respondents very carefully.

Do you really want a man?  So many single women.  So many single men.  Women are so particular on so many levels.  Most men appreciate all different types of women and are not as particular.  You can meet a man virtually any where.  Just walk out your door and or visit the grocery store, post office, laudromat, art museum, club, bar, church.  So many lonely men wish they had a lovely female.  Take a second look at men.

They say all the good men are taken,maybe your trying to hard and keep missing him when he walk by you...Have you been hiding anywere or made yourself visiable,could be he's to occupy trying to figuer a way in getting your attention.Don't rush  in anything that you wish you've taken more time in these matter.There are plenty bad dued out in this cruel world....Relaxe when the time is right, the light will come on.

I agree with michmart, enjoy yourself and the company of your friends, you never know, he might be just around the corner. My ex husband met his new wife on speed dating, I don't know that its for everyone but it worked for him and she is a really nice person.

It wasn't really about my first husband, but the speed dating, you meet a lot of people and there is no obligation to go out with anyone if you don't choose to, also a lot safer than the net. A lot of business and professional people use it as they often lack time and don't frequent pubs or clubs

I can't find one, either.  It seems that I have stopped looking, though I keep a profile in a free dating site on the Internet.  Currently, I'm working on my life....taking care of my home, my career, my SELF (body, soul, and mind).   I'm looking into different free-time activities.  There are many opportunities around here and I can't just wait for the bell to ring and a book club or dinner party to be at the door.  
Stop looking.   It will happen if and when it should.   Be whole 

go to where men hang out. ......( not bars , tho )  Get a job in a sports shop,.....or in the mens' clothing dept. Join a bowling team . Go to a church singles group.
