Try receiving emails from a business partner who gives you hell and comes across as a petulant twelve year old. Two spelling errors and that is just the beginning! Apparently "i" is no longer capitalized.
Oh, the end is near.

On top of it all, I am doing my job very well and with great care. This particular account is a difficult one. It needs a certain touch. A delicate touch.
To be fair, this person has been treating me badly for quite some time. This is the last straw.
You don't know your punctuation.

I was told that contractions are not used much in the US. It is used in Australia, but usually only when writing a letter to someone you know. Nowadays it's even used sparingly in stories. Once, we were not allowed to do that.
For the same reason some people can't use punctuation or capitalization.......

It’s so much faster to not use capitalization. If you’re in a live conversation on the computer, capitalization will really hold you back.
We don’t know the age, education level or weight on akaqa. If teenagers wrote like educated or uneducated adults, we might be in trouble. If eight year old wrote like adults, it would be even worse.
Our punctuation here is kind of like our face and body type when we meet in person. We will be known by it.
I think our purpose here is to be understood. In many months, I have rarely been stumped by what someone wrote. I can read through bad spelling. If the spelling is really bad, it might show a state of mind that will alert me to answer a question in a different way.
I never think about my spelling or punctuation ...However, it was almost impossible for me to get this typed. I thought about spelling. I’m going to just let go of that worry. There’s other things to be concerned about.

Some because of an inferior education, others perhaps, none at all. Some might not be native speakers of English; I can understand this. English can be very difficult for "foreigners" to learn. I think that people here should point out these errors without berating the poor spellers. It's better in this forum because of "anonymity", but when someone knows who is writing, the person who sees it, might see that person as being stupid.I don't know anyone who wants to be perceived this way.

You have a problem with the word, “cant"
Please don’t point fingers. People have their reasons for not being good spellers. I wish people would let go of this. I guess I’d have to say The Spelling Police are my pet peeve on akaqa.
Let up. Be nice. It’s the holiday season.

It's scary but that's the way our young people spell in the U.S. now. I went to college in the 80s, when I was in my 30s, and even the college kids' spelling was atrocious. One reason it that in the 70s or 80s, the educational system came up with a theory called '' creative spelling '' . My sister -in- law who was a elem teacher said the idea was ' ' to get them writing'' The feeling was that it was better to let the kids write a little bit everyday ,even if they couldn't spell the words, than to wait till they were in teh 3rd or 4th grade and could spell many words. The problem was, the kids carried it over into their everyday life and didn't see spelling as important. I have a teaching degree and sub taught for 8 or 9 years, and I can tell you that with the older kids, many of the papers had a lot of spelling errors. And even on the state tests ---on the writing part of it.----they allow the students to misspell everything and still get a passing grade on their compositon . And you can forget about grammar and puncuation. Their teachers don't drill them on it anymore, like lthey did us .......those of us who were kids years ago. And the schools don't teach penmanship ( cursive ) anymore. They say it's not neccessary. Now, we're going to have a whole generation of kids who can't read cursive writing .

You are not the first to express concern about the inferior spelling often seen here, nor will you be the last. The reasons have been set out by almost everybody who is a "regular".
My youngest son always got "A" on his spelling tests. When he wrote essays or letters, he couldn't spell to save his life. Bright kid, bright young adult; spelling....not so much.
It's harder to take the questions that are just a couple of words that can be interpreted 87 different ways.
