I'm aware of the video but unaware of the circumstances behind it.

Many of our parents were raised by "the belt" and they turned out to be our "Greatest Generation".

I don't believe in beating a child with a belt or ANY object. Its the FEAR of getting the belt that usually keeps a kid from going crazy and getting out of hand.

My mother used to pull the hair of my temples when I was bad as a kid. Did I like it?

No, but I never forgot it, and stopped what ever it was I was doing that pissed her off REAL QUICK. :0

VERY VERY DISTURBING!

This must happens regularly for her to video tape it. Her mother must have been abused  by her too, because she's heard on tape telling her daughter "take it like a woman. What kind of sense does that make? " I think they appeared on the  Dr. Phil Show, in which she said her father needs help.  I think he needs more than help, he should be in jail.

I spank my kids I even do it with a belt on occasion. The video is a 7 full minutes of beating... Not spanking. At the end of the video the mom takes the belt and takes a few swipes at her. I am all for disapline but this was over the top.
