these factors play a part in collaboration. however the biggest factor is leadership. depending on the leader(s) and the philosophy of the leaders. that's where the energy for the collaboration comes from. what does the leader want. the leader has the power and maybe the money. people instinctively cater to the money and the power, even when its wrong. there is a good book, called People of the Lie, it talks about how people do the wrong thing and the group mind goes along with it. Look at Enron and all these companies that knew better, but did not do better. Trickle down truly happens with group dynamics. People follow and cover up for the powerful leader. diversity, attitude, learning and work styles are great ingredients in collaboration, but not the driving force and probably only plays a small part in the overall dynamics. 'he who has the gold rules'. That's one reason we have so many wars, no collaboration, cause each side has its own power, & few powers want to fall in line even if diversity exists within the talks. Power and money is the name of the real game. diversity, work styles, learning styles well . . . they might let you sit at the table, but you are not going anywhere unless you are doing what the power really wants to see happen. is that collaboration.
