You need to convert the scan into a PDF. Unfortunately this means buying the adobe software program. It's pricey. When you scan a document, it goes into your computer as a picture or jpeg file. You have to convert it to a PDF file which in layman terms, makes it text, not photo. You can get a free trial for what you need. Just make sure you do not have to fill out any billing information for auto billing if you are expected to, but do not remember to, uninstall the program at the end of the free trial period.
