It has to be educational... you are in a different world, different people... culture...colours, food, music, art and textures... the sidewalks are different...history ... oh my goodness!  How great is that?!

You are definitely going to learn something.

For one, you can broaden your view of the world, learning about different cultures.

In some way it could be great chance to learn other language by connecting with native people

how could it not be learning about differant cultures.

I took my boys to Peru this past summer. We were on a tour through Cuzco, Machu Picchu, and the Amazon jungle as well as a few smaller villages. We were shown how they make and color the Alpaca Wool, brought through an animal rescue, toured many ruins, had a guided tour through Machu Picchu as well as the Amazon Jungle. It was constant education as well as learning that the rest of the world isn't sitting in front of a flat screen television playing video games, fridges aren't constantly stocked with food and the daily struggles we think we have don't compare to what others in a third world country have.My children and I came home with our eyes open to just how blessed we are to have been born in Canada. How much more educational can you get!

mom - amazing - reminds of Werner Herzog's film Fitzcarraldo story of a man who wants to build an opera house in the middle of the Amazon jungle - fantastic movie 1982.

What a fantastic learning experience traveling is, means so much more than just reading about other cultures, the history , current, economics, lifestyles and traditions of other nations, I wish I could do a whole lot more,

sawali Travel educational of course. Not much of a tourist myself but of course to travel anyway is so good both home and abroad - I feel if you are lucky enough to work in different countries and stay a while - you learn so much more by being able to absorb the culture, language, environment and just everything that is different to what you know. Fantastic experience and so broadens your horizons.

Sure it is cause let learn about new things and new culture of this new land you visit , something you do not know before , also you may get new language  as well .
