Yesterday afternoon coming out of a mall i saw a group of kids standing around a car looking at something. I stopped to see what was going on . Two kids said there were two guys crying and arguing because they didnt know how to change a flat they had on their brand new car. They were blaming each other and really having a bad time about it, so i decided to pitch in and help these two. Yes the two were gay partners. I think the people standing there were not getting involved because they didnt really want to get involved with their emotional situation. I asked everybody standing around to leave and then changed the tire for these two. I showed them where everything was and basically how easy it would be next time if it ever happened. Showed them they can call a number for road side assiatance that was on their new paperwork. Check your vehicle for all the proper tools needed to change a flat. Could save you alot of time and trouble someday.
Frankly I do not understand where "Gay" as a generic name came from.In short you did a good thing but no need for the "Gay" bit particularly as they were not very gay at the time.
With regards to their crying I have known (not in the biblical sense) several men of homosexual persuasion and it has been my experience they are a lot more sensitive to their emotions. This not to say there are not "big burly exceptions" I just haven`t met them.
In conclusion, I am not looking to open a can of worms, just stating one mans opinion.
Zorro has a hard time leaving gays alone. His insecurities.
Gay was a code word homosexuals used in prison when they were imprisoned just for being homosexuals. This is how they knew each other. They would use gay in a sentence.

When I first got my drivers licence in 1949, yes 1949 I had just turned 17 we not only needed to be able to change the wheel we had to be able to take the flat tyre off the rim and patch the inner tube.
Yes every tyre had a rubber inner tube that held the air and there was a vulcanising kit to mend at the road side. You took off the wheel, removed the tyre then locate the hole in the tube, put the mending patch over the hole and clamped it in place with a small clamp, next you lit a surface on the patch and it burnt welding (vulcanising) the patch to the inner tube.
Then you replaced tube into tyre and pumped up with a hand pump, Volia back on the road.
I have never had to do it but I have heard of someone not having a patch removing the inner tube and stuffing the tyre with grass to get to the next town for proper repair.

Every person that drives a car should know how to change a tire. Many years ago I taught my wife how to do it. One day she had a flat and changed it herself making both of us proud. Two days later as I was driving to work the tire became loose and nearly came off .... she had put the nuts on backwards (flat side in).

YES,i do and did change a flat. know where the spare and jack are and of course tools. while hoisting the car, make sure itis secure in place and does not move- keep something heavy at other tires. the rest is, remove the bolts, the flat, replace with spare and tighten the bolts. drive slowly if the spare is a donut!

Colleen I will still help out a person when they seem in need with something like this, no matter what you say or try to discourage me.

These two guys diminished themselves crying and carrying along as they did. I helped them through their bad time to make their lives a little easier. The situation turned out to be a positive outcome. Damn colleen you really dont have to give me any crap about it. If i didnt do anything the two would have been there a long time. They were stressed ,they were in a situation they could not find an answer, and I ,a total stranger, assisted them to make their lives easier. Sorry you cant accept that. Everybody else here accepts what i have done to help them with thumbs up, why cant you. The only person looking bad here is you, Ms. Moderator with your negative ideals.

Of course I know how,if there's a nail or screw out there my wife will find it.She'll even try to blame it on me even tho I don't drive her car,now how does that work?

That's how it works! :)
When you get a flat, you will become stressed. Its an action you are not use to performing and not sure of the outcome . Its is highly dangerous which makes it more stressful. Alot of people get hurt changing flats. Sometimes its hard to ask for help doing something like this.

Since you felt the need to point out they were emotional gays, let me tell you this...good thing there's lesbians in this world who know how to work on cars and fix flat tires. I can't count the number of heterosexual manly men I've had to show how to or actually work on their cars for them..... just sharing since you decided a person's sexuality matters in your story of automobile heroism.

"Poor emotional homos"...anything to diminish the gay people, that's what I see.
Sue me if I'm too sensitive. < sarcasm >
There was no reason for that comment, what damn difference did that make you either want to help someone or you don't. If you did not want to help them and it was such a huge issue with you them being gay then why not move on and let someone with true kindness and compassion help someone. What difference does it make when helping someone what color they are, what gender they are, what sexuality?
BTW, don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.
I am more in tune with my masculine side but it does not make me act manly. I am still a woman and act like a woman. My ex girl friends were very feminine women but were not emotional cry babies. I do not think women are emotional cry babies and since you're using the argument that gay men are girly and siding with Zorro in his assessment that these supposedly gay men were emotional and crying over a flat tire (still don't believe him), I guess you believe women are emotional cry babies too.
I see you edited the girly part.
I myself have teared up but not to the point of the woman I know and I know that varies from person to person gay or strait however as a rule it's true.
I can't help notice how you attack when in these conversations
I'm not ignorant, and no I did no editing!
Yes changed many a tire and I think anybody who has a car male/female should know haow to change a tire

The procedure I do know. I have assisted in changing a flat. Fortunately, there was someone with me who really knew how it was done and guided me through it.
Recently I borrowed my ex-husband's truck and before I had gone two miles, I got a flat tire. I am thankful for my friend who had her AAA card with her. The flat was changed in less than 1/2 an hour, from call to finish.
When I told my ex and promised to replace the tire before I returned the truck, he told me not to worry about it. I am thankful for that kindness, too.

I must admit Im not good, the jack scares me as I aleays think the car will fall (stupid I know) however I did get a flat, called for assistance, which Ive paid through the nose for for 30 years, the guy arrived, changed the tyre and said, gee your lucky lady, that jack would never have worked on the 4 wheel drive, might add it is the one that came with the car, Im always very grateful if someone offers help. I used to change truck tyres when I was in the army so if it came down to it I probably still could, but carpel tunnel makes a lot of things difficult.

I drove into a mall carpark one day & discovered that I had a flat. I set about changing it straight away. A young man approached me & said "Hey let me do that for you mate". I was completly taken aback as this had never happened before. Then I realized he had noticed the disabled parking sticker on the vehicle which is my daughters & thought it was mine obviously. I declined his offer & continued. But It made me feel good knowing some young people can still be thoughtful.

In the Queensland outback where I spent much of my teenage years,if you couldn't change a tyre & I don't mean just put the spare wheel on.I mean strip the tyre from the wheel, repair it & replace it, Then you were as good as dead or at least stranded, possibly for a couple of days.Flat tyres were a common occurrence. The roads (Where they actually existed) were atrocious. I once got 5 flat tyres in one trip from Boulia to Mt.Isa.
