The world was innocent compared to today. Young people today have become callous towards there fellow man. They are rude, ill mannered, and basically need a good ass beating. But you can't do it or even say it, they'll have you arrested. The young men have no balls, they are incapable of defending themselves. Bitch slap one one of them and see what I mean. The time spent on computers is time away from working young muscles. Smoking weed also gives one an overwhelming desire to excersize, right? The young girls today look and behave like bar room whores. Glad my time was many years ago, I would have spent a lot more time in the slammer if I had to deal with the spineless punks of today.

Definately, 40+ years ago, teenagers could go out and have fun, fun to day is beating some one almost to death, girls could go to a disco as it was then called  and not to be afraid of some deviot slipping a date drug in her drink, the teenagers of today create thier own stress as they want everything now, going by the young lads at work they have no patience, if they get stressed out their solution is violence, i blame this behavior with the violent video games they watch, the lastest incidents happening in AUS. is girls fighting and i mean cat fights, it is prevelant everywhere.

Grades were not as stressed long ago. No homework, or very little, didnt really carry school books home.

Are you serious Zorro? no homework? I had home work just about every night when I went to High School in the 40s Science, english, maths 1 or 2. Even when I went to Ultimo College to study Cabinetmaking we had assignments and I was working at the time, went to college 1day every 2 weeks and 1 night a week.

Bulletman has put it in perspective, young people today create their own stress and violence is their answer to everything.

When you hear of kids abusing and even hitting one of their parents I think of my time and I would no more abuse my parents than fly to the moon.

Young ones today have no respect for themselves or anyone else. They laugh at police and torment their teachers to such an extent many teachers have left the trade.

Why is this? Easy society has allowed it to happen in most cases because of a handfull of do gooders.Teachers authority has been undermined until they have none, police are held up as the "bad guys" not the ones to be respected and held in awe.

Trust me if I was in charge of a group of kids today as I was during my time as a drill and weapons instructor of National Servicemen in the 1950s I would be jailed for the treatment and discipline handed out.

Guess what ? I would sooner have those National Servicemen anyday compared to the youth of today. The Nashos were young men, todays 18yr olds are babys in comparrison.

Don`t get me wrong there are a lot of good kids out there but a heap of bad parents, if your children to not respect you and others then YOU are part of the problem.

To answer the question , yes life for teens is more stressful but it is their own fault. Time to wake up and as parents prepare your kids for life not how to play computor games and burn down abandoned houses, how to respect others especialy the elderly. Do any of these layabouts realise that it is the "dinosaurs" that fought in wars so these same tearaways can live in the world and these oldies deserve respect .
