Definitely! He was awesome. What a voice. Unmistakeable falsetto. He was Elvis' favorite singer.
when did he ever sing falsetto ? He really had a range from low baritone to high tenor ( like Irish tenor )

The Fabulous Big 'O'. he had a incredible voice, pity he had so much tragedy first his wife was killed riding a motor cycle , then lost two sons in a house fire, he was truly one of the greats.

mycatsmom, whilst riding their motor bikes his wife was cleaned up by a semi, and when he was in england, his two eldest sons perished in a house fire, the poor guy had bad luck after bad luck.
Roy Orbison was the absolute greatest singer "back in the day". He was unfortunately overshadowed by Elvis Presley (who was of course talented in his own right) I do remember "Pretty Woman" being on WLS radio in Chicago when I was about 14 years old for 8 or 12 straight weeks as Number 1 song, a new "record" of longevity at that time, perhaps even longer than 12 weeks...my memory has faded a bit!...(:
