Do you think "His" "solitude" causes him distress? Compassion has to do with being sympathetic to one's stress. In my way of thinking God is pure love. Where is the stress in that? So, my answer is, no.

Well, he does have to suffer so many fools who make him out to be ego driven and power hungry like humans!

Why does God need compassion? He can poof out anything that hurts his feelings.

Yes, He can do anything at all, m'dear, including choosing not to. His'feelings' can be hurt if He wishes to allow that. And what would he want to 'poof' out that He has made? Compassion is an act of Love.
Apparently he is in complete control and in no need of compassion then. You answered your own question by trying to put me in my place. *chuckle*
Thanks for an interesting question, amfortas. While I agree with Randy Palmer that God doesn't NEED our compassion, when I think about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, I feel a tremendous amount of compassion and gratitude. When I think of the sadness that I experience when my children are hurting, troubled, or living a self-destructive existence, and know that we are all God's children, many of us hurting, troubled or living a self-destructive existence, I imagine how sad He must feel for the choices we have made so far.
