My sleeping patterns are all out of sinc - you probably would not have noticed - but regardles of which time I go to bed I wake up two hours later. I take a sleeping tab plus pain relief at the moment given to me for my pain but makes no difference and so I am all doped up.. This is generally an age thing - so I've heard from so many elderly people. I also heard that every hour slept before midnight is worth two hours?
Would you believe since I've been retired I have gone shopping to the 24hr Store after midnight when the weather has been good - not to be recomended especially where I live - but the store is quiet and it takes less time.

I can't believe all these posts!!!! I have the same problem, only mine comes and goes. For a number of months, I sleep quite well, and then I start the "3 am wake up thing" again. I watch something boring on tv but usually, I don't get back to sleep until 6-7 am. It will go on for months and it's annoying, isn't it? I'm so tired throughout the day and have to push myself to get things done.

Its great to know I"M not the only one, I do 24hour, rotating shiftwork, so absolutely have no sleeping pattern, I rely heavily on sleeping medication and rotate the pills so I don't get used to the same ones, but at best I get about 3 hours at a time even when I take them, sometimes only get 8 hours between shifts, and with a 2 hour return drive I often don't get much sleep at all, I feel exhausted, but figure I can choose to be tired and have a good day, or I can still be tired and choose to have a bad one.
