if you are go to NHS most of all your dentist work will be free or there will be a minimum price if you are private then there is a charge for everything if you are lucky to get on a NHS go for it we couldnt and was forced to go private

oh nomedeplume never used NHS never been on or couldnt get on didnt know that you still had to pay there you go have learnt something today! xxx
OK guys, I know a bit about this subject because I worked as a dentist in the UK for nearly 40 years. The NHS started in 1948, and all treatment was free, ditto in 1949 and 1950. In 1951 charges were introduced probably to cut demand. Charges have existed, therefore for 60 years though have been changed by governments many times.
