In the paintings he is as white as a sheet. Seriously. Maybe the artsits were low on yellow ochre or cadmium.

There were black people in Europe way before that.The Moors were there in the middle ages.But C.Columbus wasn't one of them.

No, he was Italian. He was born and raised in Italy. Italy was conquered by the arabs at one time . That's why the Italians are tawny looking; at least the ones from southern Italy and Sicily are. That's where my late husb's parents came from
