The formula is: 10.5 dog years per human year for the first 2 years, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after. Hello Don, I found this formula on Dog years Calculator, I put the info in the calculator and it said my dog was 73years old in human years.

A turtle I named Squeaky because he was so small....

A gold fish called bubles and a budgie called freddie

a little puppy dog.  but my mother did not let us kids keep it because she already had 4 kids in st. louis, mo. & felt we could not affort it.  we gave it to a neighbor.  they neighbor let it out and it got hit by a car and killed.  that was my  first grieving experience.  but i recovered quickly.  which i have discovered is the best policy for all things.  grieve, but not too long.  life is too short to grieve it  away.

Unfortunately tabber, you can't hurry grieving. Everyone does it differently and some take longer than others. It also depends on what/whom you are grieving.

A dachshund named Lisa. She kept killing the neighbors chickens so we had to get rid of her.

Hello cb, how about "....... so we had to part with her".

Yes west-bus, I was devastated. My mom wasn't too bright back then, she wrote a note explaining what was happening with the chickens and that Lisa was in need of a new home, then she taped the note to the dogs back and dropped the dog off a couple of miles from the house. (*~*)

Flossy, a black and white dog, half Terrier and Half Collie , don't know where that name came from.

A cocker spaniel named Dutchess.... Poor thing was treated so baddly... I am so glad I found her a new home.

Spot - my farm dog. When we moved to the city, we could not keep him. So my parents "found hgim a good home on a big farm..." You, know, as I got older I suspected that they fabricated this story to ease me through my separation anxiety. (But I never asked them, I just realizxed.) Well, that was 65 years ago, so I have no way of finding out what really happened to Spot.

Jo Jo and Judy.  Gerbils.  Judy bit off Jo Jo's tail and then one day Jo Jo jumped out of the cage and went sailing down the heat register vent.  (We lived in a very old house)... I was completely devistated.  Still am.  Sob...........................................why do people continue to ask this question?

Darn, Did you try to catch Jo Jo by the tail before he fell all the way through the vent? Oh no, he didn't have a tail! LOL... You poor thing, have you ever owned any more hamsters?(*~*)
    FISH-O

Yes. many many many hamsters ... I bred them ... Hamster Haven. Glorious that was and Chinchillas ... I just love them! One completely adorable rabbit. She slept with my big fat pear shaped cat. The best of pals those two were.

A spider-- His (her) name was Adrianne.  She bit me so I stepped on it.. Then I got a Rabbit, its name was Adrianne..   She ran away-- Then my first dog, I don't know what it was, it was a male dog because, well you know what they do, its name was Adrianne..  It got run over by a truck..

That's all I am going to talk about right now..  Be sure to read my 'I like monkeys'..

    Adrianne is a cursed name...
    Vinny

I'm sorry fishy-- it was the name of my choice when i was a kid, i wanted a sister named Adrianne too, even a brother but I was never lucky enough for that..

A collie mix, when my brother brought her home as a pup mom said we could'nt keep her and we begged and begged until she said ok but we had to keep the dog in the garage, then after a few days of whining she said we could bring her inside but she had to stay in our finished basement and put a gate up so she could'nt get upstairs, well the whining went on so upstairs she came and mom fall in love with that dog and the dog loved mom too,so much so as the years went by she had two litter's of pups right on mom's bed!!!LOL,her name was Candie...So many years ago...
