    HI    [ X-2] + 3 = 2X       X-2 = 2X-3      X-2 -2X = -3      -2 -X = -3

    THEREFORE   -X = -1           THEREFORE  X = 1

    JUST TO CHECK SUBSTITUTE X       [X - 2 ] +3 = 2X        1 - 2 +3 = 2         -1 +3 = 2

    THEREFORE     2 = 2

WHEN YOU CARRY NUMBERS FROM ONE SIDE OF THE EQUALS SIGN THEY CHANGE THERE POWERS     SO ADD BECOMES  MINUS          MINUS BECOMES  A PLUS

DIVIDE BECOME MULTIPLICATION   AND     MULTIPLICATION BECOMES  DIVIDE

THE EQUATION STARTS WITH PARENTHASIS  AROUND THE X-2 SO THE +3 HAS TO BE TAKEN OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE EQUALS SO THAT IT RELEASES  [X-2] FROM THE PARENTHASIS

    HOPE THIS HELPS
