Soul is actually a small particle of the God source. The physical body was created but Soul, like God has always been. Each one is just a spec of God. This is how Soul is in God's image. This is why God can never destroy Soul because if he did, he would be destroying a piece of himself. God is not male nor female and Soul is the same. It is gender less. When the comment is made that God resides within you, the reference being that you as Soul reside within the psychical body. You in a sense are God, being that Soul is a tiny fragment of God. To love ourselves is to love God. To love all others is to be like God. God loves us all because God loves himself.
I have referred to God as "he" because that is how most reference God. When I use IT as God, some can not comprehend the IT but God being gender less is IT, not he or she.

nothing we could physically speak of in this lifetime, hence us not finding a "scientific" proof of life after death. how can we measure something that is not of this world, and existence. the soul is outside of existence as we understand it. we cannot and will never be able to explain everything, but try we will.

Men need references, for a focus, therefore; the Soul is an "essence," but a Spark of Divine Consciousness gifted or given unto men by God. It is a spiritual piece, if you will or if we may be so bold, of Himself. It is an aspect of His Divine Idea of Himself in Earthlife as the Good or God. Although in men it must be realized, this is the whole purpose of the Existence and the need of its enlightening trials.

The Holy Scriptures: "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." -Genesis 2:7.
The Bible helps us to understand what the soul is. This text does not say that man (Adam) was given a soul but that he became a soul, a living Adam.
"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Jesus) was made a quickening spirit." - 1Corinthians 15: 45. So the NT agree with the AT as to what the soul is; a living person or a living animal.
To many persons and religions , however,"soul" means th immaterial or spirit part of a human being that survives the death of the physical body. But this is not a Bible teaching.
A Jewish Encyclopedia reads: "The belief that the soul continues its existence after the dissolution of the body is a matter of philosophial or theological speculation rather than of simple faith, and is accordingly nowhere expressly taught in Holy Scripture."
Ezekiel 18:4 says the the human soul can die.
This is what I know about soul from the Holy Scriptures, and what we Christians beliefe.

The soul...a cause of inspiration and energy, a divine part of God that dwells within all of us. The one thing that creates a connection between all of us. A part of God given to each human in order to allow us to feel the essence of a spiritual being having human experiences. You are the spirit of life set free.

the soul is located in the brain. there is a place that's walled off from all the physical parts and can not be found in autopsy. in this enclosed space is the memory of every single thing that's ever happened to you.
your first breath ... your last breath ... and ALL that comes between. during consciousness of life you can access a lot of this, but not all. it's those secrets that we will find after that last breath.

The Bible tells us exactly in Genesis 2:7. "God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul."
The same substances dirt is made of is found in our bodies. So is the air we breathe. We are given the ingredients but not the process. That we are not able to understand yet, nor are we stable ebough mentally or morally to do so.
