I was born in England and I am a Canadian citizen.  I am proud to be Canadian ... the national anthem makes me cry and I balled like a baby during the Olympic torch relay in our city ... that was great!  Definitely glad we went out for that.

I am an Aussie (Australian)and yes i love it,i can't picture myself being anything different.

I'm Scot-Irish and a Texan. I like me very much.....

I like the Union Flag. No offense meant. I expect one day it will be replaced with a kangaroo?
    bulletman

Actually west-bus i would like the boxing kangaroo as a replacement.

American Italian-Sicilian.  Born in the USA from immigrant parents. Proud of my heritage and my country.

I absolutely love being an aussie - too bad so many ethnics are being let into our beautiful land

    Tommyh

I love that you guys fly the flag outside your homes.I have always done it too.but you don't see as much of it here as you do in the states.
    Headless Man

Where I live you see it a lot.
    Jenn

Is that your house... It is beautiful....
    Headless Man

    Yes it is, Thanks, Jenn
    Tommyh

Nice place Randy.Love the front door.
    bulletman

There's a town in Arizona, called SEDONA, every single building had a Starspangled Banner hanging out the front, scary, when we arrived by coach , it was time for lunch and all the shops closed their doors, it was something out of a movie , so we had no option but to go to the next town. i have never in my travels experience this.
    Headless Man

Yea, Tommyh, my wife picked the door, she didn't like my plain white one.

I am Irish, through, and through. Have lived in different countrys, but hey, Its great to be back home,, where they say, the fresh air comes direct from Heaven. What more could I ask for. lol.

    melandrupert

my grandparents were Irish then they went to Scotland and my mothers parents were also Irish and they went to north Wales where does that leave me! xxx
    bulletman

I'am also of irish stock from the County of Clare, 200 years ago +.

I am a mut American... My mom was adopted and I never met my (bio)dad... I traced my moms dads family to germany till 1648. But the rest of my heritage is a mystery. I would love to know more.

    Im  fine  USA

i am a Canadian and love it - it is pluralistic, peace loving, tolerant and believes strength in diversity! no i would not wish to be anything else.

Second generation USA.  Father was Armenian.  Mother is French and German.  I'm good with that; would have enjoyed having more of a "mutt-mix".  It would have been nice to have some Native American blood and a little more European, but I'm good.

I am what I am.  I had no say in the matter and I have long since forgiven my parents. Does it really matter where we were born?

I'm proud of my Anglo-Saxon, Scottish, Australian heritage, with an Irish touch somewhere.

    Tommyh

Got any redheads in your Fam? It's a dead give-away for Irish roots.Hahaha!
    eggplant

Yep, my mother's father was a redhead. He was from the Titanic family. A relative bought the dockyards and built ships, but he died in 1880, before the Titanic was built.

To have the boxing kangaroo as our national flag, and have decent national anthem that eveyone knows the words to, tthe anathem was picked in a referendum we had , the only problem was the eastern states have the population and any thing they want they get, the other states have never heard the song before and it is bloody auful. i am not a lover of Americans, lol.   but they have an excellent Anthem.  ---- Advance Austalia Fair  sucks, Tommy and Pyth will have something to say, they are both from the eastern states, hell i almost forgot Eggie.

    Tommyh

Yeah!! Rock on "Waltzing Matilda" what's wrong with that? every body else thinks it's our anthem anyhow.
I hate the anthem & I never voted for it in the referendum.I'm a republican thru & thru & I would like to see a flag without the Union Jack in the corner.
    west-bus

Thanks bulletman, I've just had my breakfast and I am now watching the Kiwis play France.
I like your new flag but I do agree with Tommyh, Waltzing Matilda is one of my favorites. Do you still have a cricket team?!!!
    bulletman

TOMMY & WEST-BUS, i agree 100% with having walzing matilda, as you say the rest of the world identifies it with OZ. --- the best cricket team on the planet.

Hi. Born in U.K. Came out in 1970 to what was then West Germany and I just sort of hung on and on here. I live in Krefeld, a town with a population of some 250,000. in the german federal state of North Rhine Westphalia.

English on my dad's side, Our family came over on the Arbella in 1628 - were among the 700 Pilgrims who founded Boston. Slovic on my mom's side. Her parents were born in Austria and what was then Czechoslovakia. My paternal great-grandmother sent her two boys to America after her husband was executed. The Austro-Hungarian Empire was in great upheaval then and my g-grandfather had unpopular politics. The boys were 18 & 16, my grandfather being the oldest.  My maternal grandmother came over on "the boat" at the age of 8 accompanied only by a guardian. I am very happy and proud of my heritage on both sides.
