Have an open Estate, a burnt homestead with an insurance claim on hold, and a lawyer that resigned on me, an there is no other attorney in that firm. I cant find one anywhere in my area, have no money to pay for one, have lost my historical homestead due to fire and no seattlement due to my lawyer misrepresenting my claim; The 3 story home will have to torn down which i cant pay for either. it was put in an estate by the insurance co. which I find out now I should of never did that top it off it caused me to have hire a lawyer to open the estate l What will happen if dont close the estate will i get in trouble with the court that appointed me and i cant get the insurance co. adjustor to return my calls. been fighting this a yr n half now the 2 yrs deadline to a settlement is up what do i do ? this is just a tip of the ice burg that ive had with this.

Contact the bar association in the country in which you live and file a complaint against the attorney who misrepresented you IMMEDIATELY. (I once had to do this and the response was immediate)
Contact the office of the insurance commisioner who represents you as well (we have one in California), and report the agent and the company who is putting off resolving your claim.
Contact the court (clerk, judge, whoever) and request an extension for the reasons you have cited above (although I would abbreviate the situation. Your financial situation is not really their concern.....misrepresentation and failure to respond are the real issues).
