If no one believes you witnessed a crime, you could be intimidated or fined for false reporting. If you report a crime and there are no other witnesses the police may try to pin the crime on you considering your history of false reporting. A psychological review may be called for if you object to the accusation by the police that you may have committed the crime and then reported the crime since there were no other witnesses. If the psychological review cannot confirm or deny the validity of your claim then you may be held over for psychological panel review. This requires the testimony of six doctors regarding your case and can take up to three years to resolve. You are required to see each of these doctors and this process could take a year during which time you are a ward of the court and the life you may have had is falling apart. Your refusal to renounce the details of the crime you reported as true can keep you actively involved with the legal system for years unless your assigned mental health professional decides to apply terms like schizo to your state of mind.
