when I use my hot glue gun, the glue has hair-like strands trailing from the actual hot glue application site. Is this faulty glue sticks or is my hot glue gun getting old?

In the adhesive Industry they call this cobwebs or cobwebbing......I use glue gun quite often and it always has done this the only time it doesnt do it is when I use woodbonder but the holtmelt has always done this

Every glue gun I have ever seen leaves hair like strands. Just brush them away.

I have four hot glue guns and lots of different kinds of glue and this happens every time.  It helps if you rotate the gun as you are drawing the gun up and away.

Bite the bullet go out and buy a new glue gun.

Sounds like the sticks may be old stock, or have you bought them from a cheap supply.
