The ink usually used for HP printers is an ink based on a mixture of water, dyes or pigments and glycol. Despite the fact that this ink provides the most vivid colors and variations it is not waterproof after printing. There are more kinds of ink available in the market these days. For instance you can buy a Hard solvent ink that offers a high durability but the fumes are hazardous and so the area should be well ventilated.
