    why are church & state seperate but when in court we swear on a bible and our federal curency states "IN GOD WE TRUST"?

    The gov. is to have no influence of the church and the church is to have no influence over the gov... this does not mean we do not accept that this country was founded on Goddly priciples.
    There is nothing in the constitution about the separation of church and state. There is however, an establishment clause, which states that gov't shall not establish any religion(paraphrasing) The gov't certainly may recognize religion but not establish religion. To swear on the Bible,Koran,Torah, or to put IN GOD WE TRUST on a coin is a far cry from establishing a religion.
    Believe me its better that way
