    When you are asked " to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" are you and can you be liable for lying, and why haven't I heard of anyone going to JAIL for lying?

    When you take an oath, you are required to tell truth, and nothing but truth. by law. If your found not to be honest, you could go to jail.

    I've heard of people going to jail for lying on the stand. It's call purgery.  

    They'll  go to jail quicker than spit....
