What are deer resistant plants for B.C.?

My clients don't want to build fences and every thing I plant obviously gets chewed.

Deer will much on just about anything- even plants that are supposedly poisonous.  Planting deer resistant plants and trees may work...but they will go right past them into a yard to get at the yummy plants that are planted closer to a home.  If there is wild space outside of the yard with plenty of food for the deer the deer resistant plants and trees may work better.  Sometimes planting a few fruit trees and favorite pants in the wild space and then bordering the yard with deer resitant plants is enough to do the trick.  The population of deer and amount of available food outside of a yard are variables to consider. and an FYI: Unless the fence is very high a hungry heard will jump the fence or try to knock it down to get to food.
