The keyword here is boyfriend. If he was your spouse, then you would be dealing with a complex and sensative issue. Simply leave him and don't look back. You will not regret this move, but you will regret being with him five years from now.

You need to get out NOW! He has already abused your animals and
you will be next. I have been there. You are an important and
valuable human Beeing. He will make every effort to take that
away from you. I hope and pray that you walk out of the dark

Aleu, let's get this straight.

You have a partner who is the father of your children. Yes?

He is an alcoholic who turns mean & abusive. Yes?

Do you believe me when I say "Once an alcoholic, always and alcoholic"? Rehab only works if a person wants it to work, and is useless if they touch another drink... one beer at Thanksgiving...

He is a danger to you, and he is a danger to the children who must be under 6 years old.

If you walk out, taking the children, that is kidnap. Your defence would be he drinks to excess and gets out of control. Do you have witnesses who won't decide they are his mates not yours?

Whether you have or not, see a lawyer. I'm not American but this subject has come up before & many states provide FREE help for women in your situation.

Find one... tell us which state you are living in... someone may well know if this help is available there.

You have to leave, but kidnap is a very serious offence... you need legal advice.

Vinny is right about get away now, but forget the ultimatum. No way can it work, for the reason I've already given you.

If alcohol turns him mean and abusive you must dread him drinking. Why live like that? Find a man who deserves you.
