 In addition you ask are you "both a pair of dorks" your inference being "are you two a pair of dorks" As a pair consists of two do you mean each of the people are two so making them a pair of dorks.

Maybe you meant "Are you a pair of dorks" or even " Are you two a pair of dorks" but "Are you BOTH a pair"
