Lay down a tarp under your attic hatch to prevent the insulation from falling out on your carpet or floor.

Attach enough hose to the insulation vacuum machine to allow you to reach the farthest point in your attic.

Climb into the attic and crawl to the farthest point. Begin vacuuming the insulation. Work your way back toward the attic hatch to ensure you do not track any insulation into an already vacuumed area.

Climb down out of the attic once all the insulation is vacuumed. Put the insulation into an appropriate disposal bag and dispose as per your local trash codes.

Replace with your choice of insulation.
