If you really want to know about the real numbers, let us discuss it in short.
Do you know the counting numbers? Example: 1,2,3,4,........................ are called counting numbers
[ Here, 0 is not included since it is not the counting number]
Similarly, you know the fraction like 1, 1/2 , 3/4,......................... [ Here the negative numbers and irrational numbers are excluded, since fraction cannot be in negative and irrational numbers cannot be expressed in fraction]
Irrational numbers: Those numbers which cannot be expressed in fraction like 3.1455252451, square root of 2 or 3 or 6................................[ Here the root of negative number is excluded, since the real root of such number does not exist & we deal such kind of numbers in another system called "Complex Number System"]
Integers: This include both the -ve, zero & +ve counting numbers like ...........-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,..........
So, when we carefully see the above information, we can conclude that Real numbers can be roughly divided into:
i) Rational numbers [ which include integers & fractions including zero]
ii) Irrational numbers
Note: For more information, please see your book or consult your teacher or you can search in google for detail information
Hope this has helped you to some extent. Now share the idea with your friends too.
