I've known a few people who have worked at Walmart. They are no longer there because they were not motivated....at all...ever. One of the main problems seems to be that employees are expected to load shelves, move merchandise, clean, and do all of this while being interrupted every five minutes by customers who need help. When it isn't all done by the end of the shift, they are reprimanded. Hmmmm...... I wonder why they quit?

As an walmart overnite stocker who is over the age of 50 I can tell you that they use a system for determening how long it should take you to stock the frieght on you alisle or in your department, the problem is that the computer program doesnt take into account if you are 50 years old or 20 years old or if you have to search for the correct place to stock it in a department that is completely unorganized or the time you spend interacting with customers who have question, or coworkers who need help or have questions, or for the boss to ask you every 10 or 15 minutes if you are done yet? They do try motivating you with food like ice cream and pizzas and bbq for lunches sometimes and even cash prices on occassion. It might be more productive to ask if they need to help you or send you some help if you have more frieght than you are used to, instead of making you feel foolish and trying to embarass you and comparing you to your coworkers.
