No social life, no sleep and many, many anxious nights watching her to make sure everything is OK. A mild fever is going to have you calling experienced family members and her doctor. A little cough is going to alarm you...it's all new mom worries. You'll get through it. Eventually, you WILL sleep again. ;)

Oh yeah? Try to go without sleep for 60 days and let us know if you feel the same way.
To raise a child well, you must be inspired to do this job for the next 2 decades, and not just get motivated for 6-9 months. when all is said and done, this will be the highest achievement you can have on this earth.
Can you handle this?

The best thing about a new baby at first is that they just want to be with you and sleep and eat and go to the bathroom and sleep a little bit more. Mostly they just want to be with you.
It is the most brilliant experience in the entire world...lifetime...no matter what you do...this is the greatest time. You will truly fall in love. You will witness the most beautiful human being that ever existed, placed in your arms and that beautiful person will grow up in your care and in front of you.
It's a miracle. It is laughter. It is tears. It is diapers. It is wonder and joy.
My little man is now 2. I don't think there are words to explain this. I gave birth to him at 48 years old. I wish for you the joy that I feel. I love the name you chose. It is beautiful.

Expect to feel extraordinary love for her and also expect many sleepless nights at first until she sleeps through the night....usually around 3 to 4 months of age or later (depends upon her temperament...my kids slept through at 3-4 months but this is not always the case)....the rest will fall into place....make sure to change her diapers often as when they are so young they get some nasty rashes on their delicate skin.....enjoy your baby and good luck to you!.(:
