I don't think anybody believes there are positive results from obesity in children or from obesity in general.
Some negative effect of obesity in children:
- Obese children are at risk for suffering from many illnesses, such as diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, and increased risk for having coronary heart disease when adults.
- Depression and poor self esteem due to their appearance and to possible abuse from other kids or estrangement feelings of the other kids.

There is nothing positive about an obese child. Not love, not caring, not letting him (her) be a free spirit. The negative is apparent.  Obese children face greater health risk, social problems, poor self worth, poor attitude......
