I have employed felons in the past.There were a couple of them that would get an outstanding reference from me & there were a couple of them who I recken should still have been inside.Each case needs to be judged individually.You get a feeling for people when you interview them.You have to go with your gut.

Whether or not I’ll hire a felon, who served his sentence, depends on few things. First of all I believe that people deserve a second chance, especially if finished paying their debt to society, otherwise, why felons are ever released from prison if they cannot be accepted back to society? I think that my decision will be strongly influenced from the man’s/woman’s job interview, and the type of job they apply for. If I’ll get the impression that they wishes to start a new law abiding chapter in their lives, I’ll think positively of accepting them.

I've known a lot of employable felons. That helps. I would hire them knowing them but I would have to trust my gut...........

Most certainly, they made a mistake, they paid for it, time to move on and if they are suitable for a position I wouldn't hesitate, however our department see it differently, we all have police checks and past criminal activity would almost always destroy any chance of a position, .....fair, I dont think so, especially as they don't hesitate to use free labor with people doing community service (outside work only) and are not to have anything to do with the clients. But personally I believe everyone deserves a second chance. 

Many companies have policies that will them not allow to hire a felon. I think, that this is terrible wrong. If no one hires them, they have to go back to break the law again, in order to survive. Yes, I would hire them and give them a chance .
