    The aorta is the largest and main artery in the body, it comes from the left ventricle of the heart, goes up   arches (like an umbrella handle) then goes down through the chest and through the abdomen and into the pelvis where it divides into two arteries that go down each leg. It branches out to various parts of the body, (arms, head, and major organs) supplying oxygenated blood

    I am curious to know why you ask??? Seems to me you should be able to do your own homework if you are able to come onto this particular site or geez you don't know how to google...what is this world coming to if  you cannot even do your own homework or figure out how to get an answer without thinking that you have the privilege to come onto this site  with your homework questions...you children should figure out your own homework
