      Great plan!! If you get called up, just go into the court and ask this, look really, really confused and they won't select you and you won't have to spend your time doing jury duty!!

        It is a system in which jurors who have sworn to hear and pass verdict on an acused person in a criminal case (andin some civil actions).  Deliberating together and with no other persons present, they decide on the facts in a case on the basis of the evidence brought forward in court.  In California if you are chosen to be a juror, you are paid $15 a day from the second day of your jury service.
