It was a warm summer day and I was pleased to be offered apple pie with Ice cream. When it arrived I picked up my spoon in anticipation of the delightful dessert when I notices 3 small maggots in an apparent race toward the edge of the dish. Then upon closer examination of the offering , I noticed a myriad of unwelcome hosts including hair, other small bugs and doubtlessly more….but then I respectfully said I had lost my appetite and that I should leave for a neglected responsibility.
