In today's market your employer can do pretty much as they please, because someone is in the wings ready to take your place.I'am not working right now,but last year when I lost my good union job in the printing field we were told and we saw the co. was hurting bad we were more than willing to give back and they let us go though the whole process knowing all along that they was going to shut it down. And thats just what they did,we were more than fair, but with them knowing long before that in knowing what they were going to do was not fair to us.So here i'am at 57 years old without a shot in hell of getting a good job in that field and not knowing anything else(i did this shit for 30 years) I am now very worried in what my next move will be,I'am ready for a break down...

Unfortunately your employer can suspend you for mistakes in your work- pending investigation, as your employer has a duty of care to you and other employees to ensure you are ALL safe. Your medical condition should be taken into account in any invetigation and be used in mitigation.
Did you inform you emplers about your condition and that you are awaiting a spcialist opinion.?they should be fully aware of this if you want it to be taken into consideration. if there is an Occupational Health Provider at your work ask the HR department for a referral to them, this is important as they can determone whether you should have been at work or not ALSO they could help in speeding up any referrals or any other therapies needed, maybe getting your employer to pay for private treamtent and support you in this difficult time I would certainly advise you visit your doctor again to inform him as to what has happened but always keep you emmployer informed. I hope that this does not worsen you condition and hopefully this will be dealt with qiuckly. wishing you well xx Bodicea

Your health problem is not a good excuse for you to make mistakes. Your employer suspends you in the interest of your health, your co-workers and the company.
