        A very simple answer to your question is :


        Among the method of purification of water, the best method is "Boiling".


        That's why we boil the water.

          My son told me that boiling water is ineffective as it concentrates the germs or bacteria. He said that using special tablets or a special filter is better. He's a doctor.
