The controversy over the field work of Napoleon Chagnon began with the publishing of the book "darkness in el dorado" by the journalist Patrick tierney, in which he accused Chagnon and his partner james neel in spreading measles epidemic among the yanomamo people.
After the book was published, many researchers investigated tierney claims, and in the end they found out that most of all of the accusations were not true, but chagnon did represent the yanomamo people in a harmfull way.
