Heart-breaking all the chimps

Yes, however some research requires at least one species to be a primate. I respect and love animals, and especially am grateful for the cures, vaccines, medications, procedures, etc. that have been developed to protect the human race with their assistance as research models. I am also in favor of the policies that require them to be cycled for other appropriate research, rather than using new primates for each new study project. I have worked with a local medical school, and have adopted research sheep (which could safely be spared at end of research projects) and used them as breeders in a flock. Researchers are not monsters, they have a job to do, and they like nothing better than seeing these animals returning to the farm, when possible.
