I like artichokes and I eat them and I'm still alive.

Garlic, olive oil, salt & pepper, topped with lemon. Yum!

You don't eat them, in OZ THEY ARE A NOXIOUS WEED. WHEN I WAS ON TOUR IN CALIFORNIA THE BUS DRIVER POINTED OUT ACRES Of  ARTICHOCKES, as they are a delicacy, we all laughed as we poison them al,l before disposing of them.     :)

I have heard that you don't want to eat seafood in months that doesn't have R. If I remember seafood couldn't be shipped in warm month's without spoiling relatively quick. That was before modern refrigeration. Never heard that bout artichokes.
