I worked retail for a very, very, very (Cry now) long time.
I once told an abusive man that he was abusive ... as it was obvious to everyone but himself. When he finally ran out of steam from the tirade he was performing, I asked him to leave the store and never return.
One week later a regular customer (His wife) came in and informed me that it was her husband I asked to never shop in the store again. Out of my mouth, by-passing the editing department of my brain spewed forth, "Oh, that was your husband! That's too bad.". I was sincere. She was a lovely lady and he was a horrible man. Really horrible and not very nice looking to boot... he also wore denim on denim ... big mistake.
Needless to say, neither one ever shopped in the store again and she gave me a dirty look once in the parking lot of a grocery store.
He was angry because someone had taken the parking spot that he had chosen for himself. There were about 900 other spots to choose from on that particular day. It would seem that not one of them were good enough for this man.

On a snowy day at the casino I made it to work. A guest came in complaining about the weather and her troubles getting there and what to do with boots and coats I explained about coat check, etc. and said At least you had a choice as to come here. I was reported for inappropriate talking to a guest! Ended up getting a verbal chew out!
