    Genesis 2:7
Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Man has a soul because he has the breath of life in him.

I've heard teachings on the subject, discussing the Trinity of God. I don't have specific verses handy, but it's been said in three parts.
    1)Body

    2)Mind

    3)Soul

Maybe someone out there has a verse or two for you?

    Lupe

HE made the body of Adam the way HE wanted to. I don't question HIS wisdom. But I do ask questions sometimes.

I CAN UNDERSTAND THE MIND AND THE SOUL BUT THE BODY? I THOUGTH GOD IS SPIRUT NOT BODY

God's image (if we must an image) is what is GOOD, and Holy and Just anf Fair, and Virtous, and Kind, and forgiving, and Loving! When men reflet this Light, then they are in God's image. Not two arms, two legs, and a head foe God is not made in mans image !!!

thanks for you answer, now i understand

    Foot Note:

*"The wages of sin is death." NOT hell fire.
Some religious leaders want to burn their enemies in a fiery hell, but all references to this hell in the bible are symbolic. You might like to obtain a copy of " What doe the Bible really teach." available free of charge from any of our ministers at your doorstep or you can download a copy from the website.

    Kind regards,

I think your comment is debatable, however an existence without GOD is HELL enough.

    It refers to Gods attributes
Love, Justice, Wisdom and Power. God of course is a Spirit and not flesh and blood.

Perfect mans was given all these attributes as a free gift.

Sadly Adam sinned before he sired any children. This genetic condition was then passed on to the rest of his offspring. You have heard the expression. "The wages of sin is death." Do you know where is comes from? *

(Romans 3:23-24) 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and it is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous by his undeserved kindness through the release by the ransom [paid] by Christ Jesus.

So now we all suffer and eventually die for our shortcomings which can be many and various, so in a nutshell, when Jesus applies the value of his ransom to faithful sinners we can qualify for a second chance. Of course it is grossly unfair that we have to endure this condition since it was not our fault but hey life is good even in these conditions. I hope this goes partway to answer you question Walter, You can download tons of free information at www.watchtower.org.

God is an invention of man so of course he's going to have claimed to have 'created' man in his own image

The image is not the body but the soul.

think about it ,the bible was written by man, do you think gods image would be something else?

I heard of a little girl who was drawing and when her mother asked what she was drawing she said "God" "But no one knows what God looks like " mum replied. "Well they will soon" said the little girl.
