Best to consult a vet, but I have always heard that sweet oil is good for that not sure though?

Unless the dog is favoring his ears or scratching at them I would leave well enough alone or if you think it's a problem you should consult a veterinarian. It's not a good idea for you to try to clean them yourself as the wax is for protection.

If you need clean your dogs ears due to dirt you can use baby wipes but never put any thing in the dogs ear canal without consulting a veterinarian.

An excess of wax can often indicate the presence of an ear infection. If the wax is black your dog may have ear mites, be bitten by fleas or have a fungal infection. Fungal infections are common during warmer weather especially in humid environments. If your dog is constantly scratching at its ears or constantly shaking its head vigorously this indicates your dog may be in distress and can cause hematomas. If you believe your dog has an ear infection, has sores on its ears or there is any swelling of the ears you should consult a veterinarian immediately. These problems can escalate quickly. Aside from being painful to the animal it can cause hearing loss and serious health problems.

take the dog to a vet it could be different problems they could be just dirty could be ear mites fleas ticks etc.. take him though left untraeted it can be very painful cause loss of hearing
