I do because the Bible tells us not to forsake the gathering ourselves together for the sake of encouragement and building one another up. I feel it is a command from God so I can not ignore it.

In Luke 21:10 Jesus said to his apostles of the last days "Then he went on to say to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs." This will not an action on Gods part only a prediction so to speak.
oh yeah... the command just says to not forsake the gathering together. It doesnt say where you must meet. I have actually met in a park before.
Lisa why does God wreck with a "act of God" the "house that people built in his honour? Earthquake, flood etc. Couldn`t you meet in a park?
We that believe in Jesus Christ, celebrate his victory over death. Satans most potent weapon is death. Jesus was victorious over death giving all believers hope in life eternal. Therefore we celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We celebrate. I have never been to a party with only one person attending. That is why we all come together to celebrate Jesus Christ. Wherever you choose to celebrate makes no difference as long as we celebrate Jesus together.

Jesus said 'Do this in remembrance of me' at the last supper. we can do what we call 'celebrting Holy Communion' anywhere and often in poeple's houses. Mostly we meet in church to do this. We need all the help we can get in this world, so we are 'not conformed to this world'. We need other Christians to pray with to help and encourage.

It was mankind the coined the term "act of God" it is not in the Bible. If an act is caused by God (ie Flood of Noah, or Sodom and Gomorrah) he is defending righteousness not a random act. The Bible tells us in the book of James "When under trial, let no one say: ‘I am being tried by God.’ For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.” (James 1:13)
