Sorry to say we want be watching this years Dancing with the stars, it seems like everytime you turn around ABC is trying to shove Gay rights down our throats , if not this show its another one and another , come on people the more you take the more there going to shovel. Its it about time for the us straight people have ours rights. Besides they will have plenty of gays to watch there show

Straights have all their rights. It is your right to shut off your TV and never leave your house. You have no idea how many gay people are around you everyday. How many wait on you in restaurants, cook your food, bag your groceries, drive the ambulance that takes you to the hospital where a gay doctor might be the one to save your bigoted ass, put the fire out should your home catch fire. Did you know one of the heroes on flight 93 that went down in PA on 9-11 was gay? At the time he died he was still fighting for his rights, rights that you enjoy. His name was Matthew Sheppard. Some say he's in hell because he was gay, even though he died trying to save his fellow Americans. We are still fighting for the rights he did not have. Shut your ignorant mouth. If you think there are gays on TV and it offends you, simply turn the channel. You are an adult and have an opinion on gays. I have a comment which will no doubt get some flack. I have Great- grandchildren, while watching TV the other day a commercial about a room freshener came on. The two characters in the commercial were portrayed as a lesbian couple. MY 4 year old Great-granddaughter was watching TV and didn't ask anything about the commercial obviously. I don't want a commercial to subliminally promote a lifestyle which may one day confuse my great-grandchildren. My point is this, I 'm straight and I want all of my children to be tolerant of people and other lifestyles, but I prefer they grow up in a heterosexual environment. My kids were all encouraged to participate in sports of which some are consider gender specific, although today it is difficult to identify them. I want my kids to be straight. Should they choose to be otherwise, I will love them no less.
P.S. I will contact the advertiser of that commercial and make my thoughts known.

Some things you just can't hide kids from in a changing world. I would think you would be more up in arms about the fact that sexually explicit bedroom scenes are shown on shows that children view and that there are commercials that talk about erectile dysfunction, arousal enhancement gels, menstrual cycles and ladies bras and panties modeled right there on the screen when once kids use to have to sneak into the Sears catalog to peek at a photo of a woman modeling a bra. No wonder 8 year olds are having sex. There's nothing left to wonder about they see everything else on TV. So go ahead and contact the advertiser to complain that they showed two women together in a room fully dressed and not making out in the commercial but leave the commercial about a man's penis problem alone. I suppose E.D., sex gels, menstrual cycles, half naked are all OK because at least they are normal. It's those gay people who will warp children if the children have to know about them.

My goodness. This is quite a debate going on outside of the question.
1. People who tune in to DWTS to see Chaz are not promoting G/L rights. They are curious to see what he looks like. It IS pretty amazing to think that someone once a woman can become a man or vice versa. I'm curious, but I like the show, too. He is blessed to be able to make the change. Many are trapped in bodies that betray their true identities.
2. There are so many "special interest groups" hollering for equal rights, equal pay, equal benefits, Equal sugar substitute. G/L are very vocal and always on the offense while defending their position (playing both parts of the "game", very good strategy because it leaves the opposition wondering what they are supposed to be doing).
3. I'm a little more concerned when I see the flag of another nation flying above the flag of the U.S. by people who are enjoying the freedom and elevated lifestyle (as in food, clothing, and shelter, along with all kinds of educational and social assistance) that would not be forthcoming if they lived in the land of the flag they so proudly wave. THAT sickens me..
4. I'm a little more concerned about my kid coming home when he was in 2nd grade asking me about some graffiti he saw another kid on the bus scribbling on the window. It was a gang symbol. I'm a little concerned that our school district has banned red AND blue clothing from being worn to school. A friend who is a teacher told me she can't even wear her red shoes to school.
5. Like so many before me here, my answer to the question is: If you don't like what's on channel 78, don't watch it. You have 2,368 other channels to surf through.
6.Lots of people ARE homophobic. There IS something different about a G/L person compared to a heterosexual person.....their sexual orientation. That's it. I don't get it, it's not something I embrace for myself, but I don't let it dictate whether or not someone is my friend.
7.Most of us face some sort of discrimination during our lives. Some of it is very subtle, some is very obvious.
8. Pornography is not a good representation of 'healthy' sex. It is generally base & lustful in nature, somewhat degrading to at least one of the three people (or animals) involved. I imagine a very small percentage of the world has regular sexual activity that comes close to the fantasies of porn. I'm pretty liberal, but a man's got to know her limitations!
9. Pedophiles like sex with children. Homosexuals are intimate with people of their same sex. Heterosexuals are intimate with people of the opposite sex. Suggesting that a pedophile is also a homosexual is paranoid . Are there heterosexual pedophiles? I don't think it really matters...a pedophile forces a child into sex. G/L and heteros don't do that. They have relationships with consenting adults. So let go of that B.S.
10. Lots of men in prison have homosexual relationships while incarcerated because that is the only kind of sexual relationship available (most of the time). Lots of women in prison have homosexual relationships while incarcerated for the same reason. If you were stranded on an island with little to eat aside from beetles and grasshoppers, you would eat them, wouldn't you. When you get back to civilization, you probably won't stay on the beetle and grasshopper diet. Make the connection.
11. The only thing that rattles my chain about G/L people is that some are so vocal and demonstrative in asserting themesleves. Bumper stickers, rainbow this and that, something that labels them as G/L. I am being told what their sexual preference is by these statements. If we wanted it to be at the level that you put it, then we would have stickers of rainbow beds or something. What sickens me is the amount of heterosexual sex I have to put up with while viewing shows on TV. Most times the movie or show should have an X rating. There's no need for such displays in most all programming. I do not care to see some guy slobbering all over a woman. But I have to put up with it or turn off my TV, which I typically do. It doesn't stop there either. I have to see the same showing of hetero sex in magazines, at the stores, watching some guy groping his girl or a guy and a girl making out in the check out line. I'm really tired of the straight sex life being shoved down my throat. I find it no more appealing than you find my sex life. Heteros never think about the people who might find these displays revolting though do they? Yet they are the first to scream about a rainbow sticker or maybe even *gasp* gays holding hands, such a display ick! Hmm.

I struggle against discrimination you can't begin to understand, far beyond the simple difference in sexual orientation. The value of me as a person (and everyone else, for that matter) is not based on sexual orientation. That stereotyping it SEEMS you have done of me (note AGAIN that I am not accusing you of anything) is just one example of the prejudice I have to put up with because I am a divorced, half- Armenian, Christian woman who is the elder of two children of parents who were successful in their family business, with brown eyes and straight brown hair, who married a man with had a history of infidelity and should have known how that was going to end, and I had three sons (but no daughters) with him and I had a nervous breakdown when he left the boys and me, and because I went to a local community college before transferring to a school far away from home because I was tired of people thinking they knew who I was inside and if I moved where no one knew me I could be exactly who I was and not act like what I thought was expected of me as a straight female who prefers Bud Light to Coors Light because of other people's narrow-minded judgmental tendencies. It's really quite simple, if you have an issue then cut off you cable or even simpler than that...use the clicker. No one has come up with conclusive evidence as to what causes homosexuality. Even the homosexuals do not know. We just accept it and live our lives while ducking between people like you hurtling biased opinions and propaganda that is devoid of fact. We are not born with a "physical and / or mental desire to not be with or attracted to opposite sex". You have it backwards and I think you did it on purpose because it does make a difference. 1) Homosexuals are homosexual, men who love men. Child molesters are pedophiles, men who like children. They are not gay, they are sexual perverts attracted to children sometimes not even caring about the sex of the child just as long as it's prepubescent or pubescent. Once the child is through puberty, the pedophile looses interest.

Now apply this to your prison scenario and remember, many men will get sex whenever, where ever they can. Straight men will have sex with men in prison if that's the only way they can get it. I've seen the documentaries and the men themselves will tell you this. The majority of gay men are not like you have depicted them in your recanting of your prison time. I have this same argument with the group of men from NAMBLA who call themselves homosexuals but prefer only pubescent boys. Their thought is, as soon as a child sprouts it's first pubic hair, he is an adult. I tell them the same thing, they are NOT homosexuals. Even Wiki-pedia lists them as pedophiles and not homosexuals. They are criminals and I cheer every time one is incarcerated. They should be sent to prison for life because pedophilia is not treatable and is harmful to children. The LBGT fights hard against NAMBLA and it's push for rights. The homosexual community has nothing to do with these men who claim themselves homosexual and prey on young boys. They are NOT homosexual. They are pedophiles! If you have a pedophile telling you he is a homosexual, then you are only aiding his agenda to legalize man/boy relationships by attacking an innocent community. Go after and decry pedophilia and the men of NAMBLA. Do not go after the homosexual community and claim pedophiles are homosexual because they are not and we fight against those false homosexuals that you are believing.
Actually, you are supposed to be able to speak your mind. It's just that, as a civilized society, it behooves us to be tolerant of others; you don't have to agree with them, but you don't need to incite a lynching, either.
