No one knows for certain the purpose of pubic hair. Some say that we have pubic hair for physical attraction. However, doctors say it's probably there to help catch and spread the scents a person's body gives off---called pheromones and glandular secretions---which are powerful aphrodisiacs. These scents are one thing people pick up on when they become attracted to someone else.

The original purpose of pubic hair was to protect our genitals from wild junk before we had clothes, to signal sexual maturity before we had calendars & scientific knowledge, to keep the genitals warm before we had clothes, & to act as a natural genital censorship which promotes sexual purity. But in the modern civilized world it has no other purpose than to get in the way & be a burden. Even if pubic hair has a purpose & benefits, the benefits of removing it outweigh the benefits of keeping it.
